ORTHOPAEDIC SURGERY RESIDENCY PROGRAM
The Franciscan Health Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program is a five-year, ACGME-accredited program designed to provide comprehensive clinical and operative training across a diverse network of academic and community hospitals throughout Chicagoland. Residents are exposed to a broad spectrum of orthopaedic pathology, with progressive responsibility and increasing autonomy aligned with level of training.
The program emphasizes rigorous surgical education, structured didactics, and hands-on operative experience designed to prepare residents for independent practice or fellowship training.

Living in Chicago
Chicago is one of the nation’s largest and most diverse metropolitan regions, offering vibrant neighborhoods, exceptional dining, cultural institutions, professional sports, and convenient transportation. While the program’s primary training site is located in the south suburbs, most residents live in downtown Chicago, allowing them to enjoy urban life while training across a broad spectrum of academic and community clinical environments and patient populations.
